The loudest person in the room is usually the least confident one (what Paul McKenna taught me about real confidence)

This photo was taken about ten minutes after Paul McKenna and I walked off stage at Mindvalley U.

1,500 people in the room. And Paul did what I’ve watched him do for two decades now: he brought people up, live, no preparation, no screening, and demonstrated hypnotherapy on them in front of everyone.

People who walked up carrying something heavy walked back to their seats lighter. You could see it in how they moved.

I’ve been around transformation my whole adult life. I still don’t fully understand how he does it. But I’ve stopped needing to, because I’ve felt it.

Paul is one of my dearest friends, and his techniques have helped me and countless people I’ve put in front of him in ways that made me a believer long before we ever worked together.

And here’s the thing he taught me about confidence that I’ve never forgotten, because it’s completely backwards from what everyone assumes.

Ever notice the loud person in a room?

The one telling you within four minutes how much they made, who they know, where they just flew in from.

Paul says that’s usually the least confident person in the room. That’s a performance. A front. An insurance policy against being ordinary.

Truly confident people don’t perform. They’re comfortable in their own skin. They’re the calm ones, because they’re not spending every ounce of energy managing how they’re coming across.

Which means confidence isn’t something you add. It’s what’s left when you stop adding things.

Paul told me about a radio broadcaster he met, who’d read his book on confidence twenty years earlier.

The man had a savage voice in his head: you’ll fail, don’t bother, not you.

He changed that one internal dialogue.

Then he asked out a girl at the station he’d never had the courage to approach.

Paul asked what happened, and he said: “We’ve been married for fifteen years.”

One sentence in his head rewired, and he got 15 years of a life he almost didn’t have.

That’s what programming does.

And I believe most of us are walking around with programming we never chose, running underneath the level where willpower operates, which is exactly why trying harder hasn’t worked.

Paul works underneath that level.

And this Sunday, once a year, Paul comes LIVE to reprogram the subconscious with our whole community.

The Paul McKenna Experience: LIVE on Sunday, August 9

4 hours. 3 hypnotic transformations, about 45 minutes each.

You don’t take notes. You put on headphones, close your eyes, and let Paul work directly on the programming:

  1. The Hypnotic Transformation for Soaring Confidence. The Confidence Switch — Paul retrains the voice in your head so you can speak, present, and walk into any room as your natural, unforced self. Not a louder you. The real one.
  1. The Hypnotic Transformation for Abundant Money. Paul’s acclaimed Money Zone technique, dissolving the hidden programming that’s been quietly deciding what you believe you’re allowed to earn.
  1. The Hypnotic Transformation for Optimal Weight. Your cravings, your unconscious eating patterns, your emotional response to food — rewired at the level where they actually live, so your healthiest state becomes your default, not your struggle.

And throughout the day, Paul brings volunteers up and demonstrates live the same thing 1,500 of us just watched at Mindvalley U.

That part cannot be replicated in any recording, which is why this happens live, once a year.

We’ve expanded capacity this year because it has maxed out every single year, but it’s still first-come, first-served.

If you’re a coach, a teacher, a healer,  someone in the business of transforming others, come watch how he works.

These are the same techniques Paul uses with people at the very top of their fields.

Starts Los Angeles 8am · New York 11am · London 4pm

P.S. Paul once fixed one of the greatest golfers in history,  Sir Nick Faldo, with a single question about where his focus was pointing. The next ball dropped right beside the hole. On Sunday, the confidence hour opens with that story, and with the technique behind it. Come find out what that question does to a person.

P.P.S One question for you: what’s the version of yourself you’ve been quietly competing with? Leave a comment — I read every one.
