It’s not easy to conjure up a long list of healthy snack recipes which will help you lose weight, and have them also be delicious.

Yet, it’s incredibly important to do so!

Any diet which relies on human willpower to succeed is unsustainable!

That lasts for somewhere between days, maybe weeks, and occasionally for some people, months.

— Eric Edmeades, trainer of Mindvalley’s WILDFIT Quest

Yet, by creating delicious nibbles from healthy snack recipes, it becomes almost effortless to stick to your weight loss plan.

Below are eight ideas for healthy homemade snacks that are easy to make, spur weight loss at epic speeds and taste fantastic.

What Ingredients Should Be Used In Healthy Snack Recipes?

The snacks listed below are all based on The ‘Human Diet’.

Never heard of that? That’s because most of society has altered the meaning of the word ‘diet’ to mean ‘temporary restriction of food’.

‘Diet’ does not mean ‘temporary alteration of your life for short-term gain. It means ‘way of life.’

— Eric Edmeades, trainer of Mindvalley’s WILDFIT Quest

In actual fact, a ‘diet’ is requirement within foods for a species to live optimally.

All animals have a diet, including humans!

We need fats, proteins, calcium, iron, vitamins, and minerals, but the food companies are packing their snacks with ingredients that humans don’t need! In fact, many of these additives are extremely bad for humans!

The biggest culprit is sugar. Often, it’s disguised as something else. In fact, food companies have dozens of names for ingredients, which are essentially sugars.

Sugars are not only converted into fat extremely quick, but they also stimulate hunger causing us to overeat. Yet, around 70% of packaged foods have some form of sugar, corn syrup, or some other refined sweetener.

We’d avoid all of these if you’re trying to lose weight. Steer clear of saturated fats and dairy products as well.

Milk and dairy products have no place in the human digestive system. Your health will be dramatically improved by eliminating dairy products from your diet.

— Eric Edmeades, trainer of Mindvalley’s WILDFIT Quest

Even grains weren’t part of the human diet until recently. There’s no need to snack on these.

Here are some of the main ingredients we’d suggest adding to your healthy homemade snacks instead

  • Protein:

Protein boosts metabolism, reduces appetite, and is great for helping you maintain blood sugar levels. It also boosts the production of many appetite-reducing hormones.

  • Fibers:

Fibers take longer to digest, compared to most sugars and starches. It’s the fiber that’s in most fruits and vegetables that contributes to you feeling full after eating. This helps you feel more full

What’s more, slow digestion helps fibers to pass through your body without causing spikes in your blood sugar.

A recent study from the American Heart Association suggested that eating more fiber can aid weight loss, even without making any other changes to your diet.

  • Acetic acid:

A compound that boosts metabolism suppresses appetite and lowers blood sugar. It’s found in most vinegars. Apple cider vinegar contains an especially large dosage.

  • Epigallocatechin (EGCG):

This compound is best known for helping the liver convert excess fat into energy. It’s most commonly found in green tea and a selection of other teas that spur weight loss
