Mindvalley Letter to America

Dear America,

I want to begin with this:

I love you.

I really, truly do.

I lived in your cities. I walked your campuses. I sat in your coffee shops, dreaming of building something that could change the world.

America was where I studied. Where I discovered my voice.
Where I fell in love with ideas that reshaped my life.

Where I started Mindvalley, with nothing but ambition and a belief that anything was possible.

For a full decade, you were my home.
And in many ways, you still are.
I may live elsewhere now, but I still identify as American more than anything else.

Because America—the idea of America—isn’t just geography.
It’s a frequency. A dream. A promise that inspired not just me, but billions of people around the world.

What we loved about you

We loved your optimism—the way you believed anything was possible.
We loved your rebels—the ones who spoke truth to power and rewrote the rules.

We loved your Martin Luther King Jr., whose voice still echoes across continents.
We loved your Silicon Valley, that dared to invent the future.
We loved your Apple, born in a garage, changing the way we connect.
We loved Burning Man, a wild celebration of freedom, creativity, and community in the desert.
We loved your poets, your scientists, your dreamers.

You were never perfect. But damn—you had soul.

You were the lighthouse.
The messy, brilliant, complicated beacon we looked toward for what was possible.

But lately… that light feels like it’s flickering.

What the world sees now

In just six months, this is what the world has seen:

– Threats to abandon NATO, the alliance that preserved peace for generations.

– Pointless trade wars where everyone loses.

– Withdrawal from the Paris Climate Treaty, while the Earth burns.

– And now—bombs falling on Iran.

Another unwinnable war in the Middle East.

A war your people swore they’d never allow again.

Not after Iraq.

Not after Afghanistan.

And it’s not just the outer world we see you destroy.

We see you tearing yourselves apart from within.

  • Immigration raids that tear apart families and have caused LA to burn.
  • Politicians who sound like children while openly taking bribes.
  • Tax cuts for billionaires, while those struggling now actually have to pay more in taxes.
  • A climate movement abandoned by the very country where it was born.

And yet—I’m writing this letter with an open heart.

Because I haven’t given up.

This week, I’m helping my son apply to U.S. universities. We’re preparing for a tour of East Coast campuses. Then, I’m driving from South Dakota to Yosemite, with stops at Mount Rushmore and the great open spaces I fell in love with.

I want to show my son America. Because I still believe in what America can be.

But I also cannot stay silent—not as a lover of your culture, not as a global citizen.

This spiral you’re in?
It must be named. And it must be stopped.

Because true friends don’t stay silent when they see you crashing.

The spiral was not a mystery. It was a choice.

Every war.
Every broken treaty.
Every erosion of trust.

It didn’t just happen. It was chosen through voting decisions.

By people who, often unknowingly, chose:

  • Ego over empathy.
  • Charisma over character.
  • Soundbites over substance.

And I don’t blame you.
You were caught in a storm of propaganda. You were tired, misled, afraid.

But we need to be honest:

When you vote for leaders who enable war, destabilize peace, and govern through vengeance, you are not just voting for policy. You are voting for self-destruction.

What happened to service?

A great American president once said:

“Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” – John F. Kennedy

Another said:

“We must never remain silent in the face of injustice.” – Barack Obama

Even Ronald Reagan once called America a “shining city upon a hill.”

What happened to that America?

Now we see leaders who sow division instead of unity.
Who thrive on conflict rather than compassion.
Who look not to serve, but to rule.

And as Sun Tzu warned:

“Some men would set their own nation ablaze, just to be king over the ashes.”

Can you recognize them?

Because now more than ever, you must.

America, you’ve always known how to tell the story. Now it’s time to live it.

Think of your heroes.
The ones you’ve shown us on screen for decades.

Will Smith in Independence Day.
Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.
They save the world, not just themselves.
They protect their families, but they also rise to a higher mission.

That’s what made us fall in love with you.
Your heroes were never selfish.

They were flawed, yes. But they stood up for something bigger.

So why, in real life, do you so often vote for the opposite?

Your vote is not just yours

I say this with love—and urgency:

Your vote doesn’t just affect your neighborhood. It affects the entire planet.

  • It affects the air we all breathe.
  • The treaties we all depend on.
  • The peace we all hope for.
  • The future our children will inherit.

This is no longer about party loyalty or economic policy.

This is about consciousness.

This is about whether the most powerful country on Earth will continue to operate from fear and ego —

Or rise into wisdom and service.

What the world needs from you now

We don’t need another American empire.
We need an American elder.

Not one who dominates. One who guides.
Not one who fears. One who serves.

Because you were never meant to be a fortress.

You were meant to be a lighthouse.
But a lighthouse cannot fulfill its purpose if it forgets to shine inward first.

Mindvalley Letter America Lighthouse

You taught us to dream. Now we’re asking you to dream again.

The world doesn’t hate you.
We’re not laughing at you.

We’re just watching… and hoping.
Hoping that the America we believed in is still in there.

The next time you march in the streets,

March for all of us.

Not just for the poor or hungry in your zip code.

But for the citizens of our shared planet who need you to shine again.

And when the time comes…

Vote with your heart. And with your higher self.

The choice is yours

Not every election is a turning point.

But some are.

And the one you’re facing now?

This is that moment.

You can vote for leaders who turn the world into a battlefield.
Or vote for those who understand that true power is service.

You can choose:

  • Ego or evolution
  • Division or destiny
  • Fear or future

The world is not asking you to be perfect.

We are simply asking you to remember who you are, at your best.

The America that marched with MLK.
That wrote the Moonshot speech.
That created iPhones, NASA, jazz, and the dream that all humans are created equal.

That’s the America we still believe in.

That’s the America the world needs.

Let that be the America you choose.

  1. Dear Vishen,

Thank you for sharing your heart. Like you, I have felt the tremors of a world crying out for healing, direction, and truth. But I must tell you, with reverence and resolve: the lighthouse of America is very much alive.

Yes, the winds are howling, the waves are crashing—but that beam of light hasn’t gone out. It’s been obscured, not extinguished. Hijacked, not surrendered. A small, powerful elite have sought to dim it by manipulating elections, weaponizing narratives, and installing themselves into power. And now, like a house of mirrors, they have turned the nation inside out. What we’re seeing is not the soul of America—but a distortion of her essence.

Have you not seen the protests? The cries in the streets, the thunder of awakening hearts refusing to be lulled back to sleep? This isn’t chaos—this is rebirth. This is the pause before the pivot. As I said recently on my podcast, The Smile Code, “Stillness speaks louder than force when it is aligned with truth.” The people are rising—not with vengeance, but with vision.

Lawsuits have been filed. Voices are being raised. Truth is being demanded. And make no mistake: this is not about partisanship. This is about Pax Humanica—a world of conscious peace that begins with personal sovereignty, spiritual clarity, and moral courage. America, for all her flaws, was a spiritual experiment wrapped in political garb. And though bruised, that soul is still intact.

The universe is watching. And more than that—it’s orchestrating. Every empire built on deception is destined to collapse. And from those ashes, a new alignment emerges: one grounded not in domination, but in dignity.

I still believe in the promise of America—not the empire, but the essence. The America whose true currency is courage. Whose true export is hope. And whose true legacy will not be what she owned, but what she awakened in the hearts of humanity.

At the perfect time—because the universe is never early, and never late—peace will be restored. Not as it was, but as it must be. Anchored in truth. Rooted in love. And radiating the fierce, gentle light of a people who remembered who they were all along.

    With purpose and peace,
    Dr. Esi Quaidoo
    Host of The Smile Code
    Founder, Pax Humanica

    1. Thank you for your comment, Dr. Esi Qualdoo. I believe in a neutral, centrist perspective that avoids political extremes. With the heart of a peacemaker and healer, I cherish and promote the well-being of my family, patients, neighbors and community members who I have been blessed to love and serve throughout my life. As a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, I believe that the Last Days will be identified by turmoil and strife; yet, those of us who watch and wait for The Prince of Peace will not be disappointed. In my mind and heart, there should be no contentions, divisions, destruction or domination of any kind among the Children of God, regardless of our religious affiliations. But rather a simple quest and sacred commitment to follow the Teachings and Example of Jesus Christ’s Ministry and thus secure our place as a Disciple of Christ and achieve the Divine potential of each Son or Daughter of God.

  2. Very powerful and well spoken in this hour of need. This resonates with me who studied in America and believed in it’s core principles. One who’s driven from Los Angeles to Portland Maine. I’ve visited many landmark national parks and seen the beauty of America. I’ve lived in LA, beautiful Santa Barbara and visited several major cities. I’ve also experienced some bad things like little gangsters with guns thinking they’re big men. 99% of people I met were solid good people. Unfortunately the ruling 1% have different agenda. Democracies only work when the majority reads, understands and votes for liberty.

  3. Hi Vishen,
I really appreciate your post here. I know we are all hurting. All over the world. I am in Canada, and we have been making huge shifts!
As a Canadian, being so tied to a real-time disaster has been a huge wake-up call. I must admit i have never been so proud to be a Canadian and watch my country survive and create a new life – almost as if after a divorce!

As we all watch the end of the American Empire (truly, it is) sometimes we have to just watch and wait for it to hit bottom like we do with an addicted friend or family member. From being so close to it, I know first hand that there is so much that has gone wrong in America: the really poor education system, the introspection and lack of understanding or knowledge in day-to-day Americans about how any of the rest of the world works, how speaking English does not make us the same as you, how giving and community, supporting the weakest link is a gesture of strength, and how values drive choice for individuals, families, communities, countries, all creates a real culture. Making choices based on economics only – is just wrong, and here we are now watching the house of cards fall.

No matter what you say, Vishen, the whole population of the US has got to create a whole new personality — and now. This is no easy feat. After we in Canada and Mexico (and many other countries) have been so betrayed, I think it may take GENERATIONS before Canada goes back to being so close to the USA. We are actively forging new partnerships with Europe, Asia, Australia, China. I truly hope we join the EU this year to be honest.

As the closest neighbour, almost all Americans have no idea of what Canada is or what role we and other allies have played in the success of the USA. It is ridiculous that most Americans know nothing about any country outside the USA, that thinks socialism is communism, or that thinks that paid time off work is counter-productive.

I think America really has to “do the work” on building soul from the ground up, and it is not going to just happen with an election. It is going to take all the people to suffer some to get to rock bottom – like an alcoholic – to see how they need to grow and change…as a people, as a culture and as individuals collectively to right the ship. It will take time, but it iws a lot of people! It might take a revolution even.

You, Vishen, are helping that change. Keep doing what you’re doing. I don’t mean change that stuff…BUT you are preaching to the choir here. The people you need to reach don’t come here to Mindvalley. It is almost like you need to run for office, my friend! I hope those who can, will do their bet to change things from within. Your voice is important and you have a big platform, thanks for sharing your vision.

    I

  4. Thanks for such a beautiful message. I am glad to see the coherence in you and I hope your words reach everyone and help them take proper action to save their country and their future.

  5. I cried as I read this. I cried for my country and for the world my country seems to have abandoned. I cried for the future that, for now, feels lost. And I cried because some voices are willing to shout their hope for our future. Thank you, Vishen, for this shout into the wilderness, and may the voices of millions join you in reclaiming the America that stands tall in service and love.

    1. Biden and all the people that used the AUTOPEN
      CREATED THIS MESS
      BIG PHARMA AND FAUCI
      MADE BILLIONS WHILE AMERICANS DIED
THE DIVISION WAS CREATED BY THE DEMOCRATS

    2. Dearest Vishen,

Back in 2001 I had a vision and a plan for a project that I created called Join The Human Race — healing human and global disconnect. The first paragraph in my book Be The Cause Healing Human Connect (the process and plan) refers to consciousness as being causal— Max Planck, father of quantum theory. It’s all that you teach.

This beautiful plan needs the highest and best vibrational manifestors to create the necessary synergy and resultant critical mass to shift our human race from fractured to integrated. In essence, we need to be the cause of creating the shift through laser focused intention.

The Be The Cause Mind Map on my website psychologicalhealingcenter.com is a visual pathway to healing through shifting a system gone wrong to a system gone right. It was inspired by Kabbalah and is based on a journey FROM childhood wounds and wounds of humanity, THROUGH the resultant chaos TO a complete paradigm shift and reintegration to unity. The process can be taught to everyone. Imagine your MindValley community being the cause of shifting the entire planet from fragmentation to unity. The Mind Map is a powerful tool to do this through and since it’s visual and no -denominational, even children can learn it, we can make one image go viral.

I invite you to view the Be The Cause Mind Map and lets follow up with a private conversation to make this happen.

I have a large psychological practice and some of the people that you hang out with can vouch for my system. I have used the Mind Map to heal my patients and YouTube listeners (Dr. Judy WTF W the Freud! is my YouTube channel).

My global Message can be found at:
      healingglobaldisconnect.com.

It’s time to create a third entity called Join The Human Race—beyond religion, politics, and all divisional factions and fractures. As you say, we are one people. With MindValley tools and the Mind Map System I am certain that we can bring this mission to global reality.

Thank you for your contribution to healing and inspiring such a large community and bringing together the harmonious team of manifestors.

Sending you lots of love❤️ and look forward to hearing from you.

  6. Yes, many of us know this but unfortunately those who voted for the current dictator will never read this and they seem impossible to convince. That is why we march by the thousands in our streets, why we organize together to be heard and why we grieve for the disaster that is unfolding. Of course Trump is not a Democrat but he also is not a Republican. He is a political party all into himself. Our Republican state politicians are between a rock and a very hard place, so to speak. I can’t imagine the backbone it takes to refute and fight what is occurring in their party right now and I see many succumbing to spinelessness under the pressure. So yes, thank you for speaking out. Hopefully someone will be enlightened by your words. Those of us who foresaw this tragedy will continue to fight. Bless all of us, we are hanging on by a thin thread right now but we will come through this.

  7. Dear Vishen, I thank you for speaking up. I can say I already waited for this. I am German and I live for the last 30 years in Costa Rica. I totally a Global Citizen. I believe in freedom, love, and that we are all connected to each other and I truly hope this would become a better place. I am not a speaker and I am happy that so many influential people speak out loud.
So thanks again. Mindvalley makes a big difference in this world. With love Birgitta

  8. A brave post. Thank you for writing it. As someone who runs a charity for children currently in the midst of a genocide being funded / armed by “empire America”, but who has also seen and respected “elder America”, I can’t help but agree with much of this. America can bring – and has brought – so much good to the world, it’s sad to see it rip itself apart like this, especially when the waves it creates end up as tsunamis elsewhere in the world.

    Thank you writing so bravely.

  9. Vishen, you need to wake up and look behind the veil. Remember how USA got here! Hillary supplied Iran with Uranium to enrich their nuclear program. Obama gave Iran $1.7 Billion that they used to fund their nuclear program. Biden unfroze over $16
billion of funds for Iran. So don’t even blame this on Trump!
You shouldn‘t spread your political views when you don‘t look at thr big picture. 2020 you did the same. I stopped following you. Now I remember why. You haven‘t changed on this matter.

  10. 100% agree with your assessment of the USA at this moment. We need action now to counter current authoritarianism & destruction of our Constitution & government. I’m doing my best to fight the transgressions & will continue to march in the streets for No Kings, as well as join with others to enlighten the masses. Thank you for your support!

  11. ….but all these have been a long time coming, forming over time. Consequences of choices made, collectively, deliberately but subtly without due consideration for their consequences. Deviations were created out of deviances. Unhesitatingly, America taught the rest of the world to thread similar paths unforgivably deflecting and exchanging flexibility for rigidity, openness for divisions and possibilities for assuredness. Essentially replacing inclusiveness with arrogance while loosing character to clannish identity. Change is the only unchanging and the panacea for sustainability is adaptation and connection. American has led the world to economic prosperity but has lost its conscience in the process. Better students will eventually emerge with a new model founded on the same unyielding principles that projected and made America great – welcoming openness, diversity and inclusion, freedom and justice, equity and moral cadence operating and guided by science and arts at their finest. Value creation and moderation in all circles encapsulated by an already WELL CODIFIED CAPITALISM AND FLEXIBLE DEMOCRACY IN ITS PUREST FORM. The formular has not changed only operators lost their moral compass. Perhaps we are witnesses to a reset. WELCOME TO A NEW WORLD ORDER IN THE MAKING.

  12. As a US citizen living abroad in 2019, I felt fortunate to be out of the country while Mr. Once-again-president had been selected for the first time. I was baffled by the outcome of the election, which I made the effort to participate in because I knew it was important and urgent. I felt a certain sense of safety living far away from the division taking place in the land of the free, which started to become less and less tolerant as hate spread its seeds indiscriminately and people began to freely express their hatred without filters. I was hopeful that things would change, that one day I would be proud again to belong to that great nation that I would want to return “home”. I am a veteran of the US forces, and I cannot imagine serving in this climate of uncertainty where decisions are being made by such disconnected souls. It was a beautiful thing back then, to be in the military, to feel a sense of trust for what we were doing, to believe that we were supporting a mission that served a global purpose. I am still amazed by how people negatively impacted by this leadership seem to have a type of blind faith. I am saddened and disappointed that more than 50% of voting Americans gave their approval forr this type of leadership. Other than voting, what else can we do? I wish I knew because I feel powerless in the matter but this letter is true, we must do something, we MUST.

  13. Hi Vishen and the awesome Mind Valley team😊

Thanks for this powerful and very transparent and compelling letter.
I have never commented on your blog before, but the urgency and relevance of your letter I has evoked my respond.
We the people need to vote for and select leaders that reflect good values.
Political leaders don’t exist in vacuum, they are a reflection of our choices – to your point.
My prayer is that we end the internal division and strife, and get back to serving and supporting each other.

    Thanks again.

  14. The real truth is what the real truth always was. That is wars were always about land and commodities.
Words can be twisted to cover the true facts, such as the genocides going on in the world are for the greater good.
They can only feed you this BS for so long until the truth appears eventually. Sometimes it takes years or even decades for the real truth to surface. Governments can paint good people as bad and bad people as good, because they have powerful words that work on people’s natural fears. Governments can make you believe that shooting babies in the head is acceptable, they can get you to believe that children are your enemies, that its ok to steal land and call it your own. How can such evil exist in this world? Where is their humanity? Their humanity shows when someone from their side gets hurt but the millions they kill are all in the name of their twisted greater good. The truth is, there is gas under Palestine, and the West has heavily invested in this. The most recent history shows us that it was always about the commodities, and those that hold the commodities hold the power.

    1. Well said. Gaza has $500 million in untapped oil and gas in the Levant Basin. Iran has a newly discovered treasure trove of antimony. It is always about resources.

  15. Yes, thank you for being fearless and saying what needs to be said. I’m a school teacher and we are watching the eroding of protections put in place for our children to have a safe place to go 5 days a week, 2 free meals to fill their bellies, and teachers to love and care for them. We are sending the wrong message to our children that hate is stronger than love. I’ve been teaching for 30 years and I refuse to put my students in a room with negative energy. We’ve got to model what greatness looks like because our kids are watching. The Dalai Lama said the purpose of education was to teach our kids to be self-governing adults and have mutual respect for all people. I’m here to say this is not ok and I choose to lead by example. Thanks for being brave enough to write this letter and enjoy your American tour
