Are you ready to grow your very own Superbrain? Here are 9 techniques you can use to increase your brain power!

How Can I Increase My Brain Power Fast?

It’s not about mental intelligence, it’s about mental fitness.

Learning takes time. In order for you to perfect a skill, you need to be persistent and patient. But sometimes, we are in a hurry, and we need to think fast in order to solve the problem at hand.

In these sorts of situations, your mind needs to be sharp and adaptable.

Luckily, there are several tricks you can use to increase your brain power fast.

1. Take a walk

In situations when you need to think things through and come to a creative solution, just go and take a walk.

Research has shown that walking itself tends to increase our ability to think about anything from a different perspective, which allows us to think of new and interesting ways to deal with the problems we are facing.

Apart from that, when we take a walk, our bodies reap the rewards, too. It is very useful for our health, and doctors recommend that everyone should take the time for a 20 minute walk each and every day.

2. Take a bath

Yes, taking a bath has benefits beyond soaking away your troubles. It also helps boost our brain power.

When you are feeling stressed or tired, it is often a good idea to take a bath.

Baths help us de-stress, which is very important if you have something an intellectually demanding task up ahead.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a little you time, so invest in your brain and yourself by taking a bath!

3. Bubblegum

Who would’ve thought that chewing bubblegum is a way to help boost your brain power?

A study conducted in 2011 at the St. Lawrence University discovered that if you chew gum for several minutes, you boost your short-term memory for a small period of time (15-20 minutes).

How Can I Increase My Brain Power Naturally?

If you are a person who prefers a natural approach for boosting your brain power, then we have several suggestions which might be useful to you.

1. Meditate

Many of the best ways to help boost your memory are linked to activities which help you get rid of your stress and anger.

One of those ways is, of course, meditation. It allows you to calm your mind, control your breathing and defuse uncomfortable emotions.

Despite what people think, this method doesn’t take too much time from your other activities. You don’t have to meditate for 3 hours. Generally speaking 15-30 minutes a day is more than enough.

2. Brain workout

Just like our bodies need regular workouts to stay healthy, the brain needs the same thing. The brain is a muscle. And the more you use it, the stronger it gets.

There are a lot of things you can do in order to train your brain, from some simple logic puzzles to playing board games, learning new skills and yes, even playing video games!

3. Body workout

Just like the brain needs its workout in order to function properly, it also needs your body to function properly to the same benefit, which can be accomplished by body workout and training.

There are a lot of choices here. Go to the gym. Go swimming or jogging. Or simply pick a sport and commit to the training.

When your body feels healthy and strong, your mind feels the same. So make sure to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes.

4. Try to be calm

Whatever you do, wherever you go, try not to sweat the small stuff. Easier said than done? Definitely. But there are ways to actively manage your stress levels.

Mindfulness meditation has been shown to have powerful effects on the anxious mind.

If meditation is a little too overwhelming, why not try some focused breathing? The 4-7-8 breathing method, based on Pranayama breathing techniques, is a powerful method.

5. Try not to eat too many sweets

It is widely known that eating too much sugar is not good for the body or brain. That’s why you should try to minimize the consumption of sweets and sugar.

But be wary. It is not healthy to remove the sugar and sugar complements entirely from your diet.

Our bodies do need some sugar to function. But try to opt for natural sugars found in fruits, or use natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. The less refined sugar in your diet, the better.

6. Sleep

It is very important to have enough sleep because while sleeping, our brain is resting and regenerating.

The optimal amount of sleep varies from person to person. Most experts believe that between 6-8 hours a night is sufficient.

Your exact needs will vary depending on your genetics and lifestyle.

What Food Is Good For Brain Power?

As we’ve already mentioned, a healthy diet is very important for your brain.

So, here are some power foods which are known to help provide a brain boost.  Especially important are consuming foods over 50 — specifically, foods that increase blood flow:

  • Fish. Fish contains omega 3 fatty acids which the brain uses to create nerve cells, which are very important for memory and the ability to learn.
  • Blueberries and oranges. These foods offer up several important vitamins such as vitamin C, which slow down memory loss, provide antioxidants, and help reduce stress.
  • Nuts. This food helps us get more vitamin E, a vitamin well known to help improve comprehension and prevent disease.
  • Egg. This superfood contains betaine and choline, nutrients that promote heart health.
  • Broccoli. Broccoli is chock full of vitamin K and contains many antioxidants.

There is a lot of food which can benefit the brain. You can use all of this to help keep your mind sharp. Remember, a healthy body means a healthy brain, and a healthy brain is very important because the brain powers our entire body.
