The weight of emotional pain can be difficult to bear.
After all, when we break a bone, our pain is on full display for all the world to see. It’s quite clear that we’re in pain. Others can identify it right away and are often willing to help.
But emotional pain can be so much harder to bear. Because no one can see it.
We have no bruises or bandages to show for our grief. We bear the burden in silence.
We often carry these emotional wounds from childhood trauma. These events follow us into adulthood and affect our day to day living.
What trauma do you carry with you today? Perhaps its something so engrained in your psyche that you don’t pause to think twice about it.
In this video, Luminita Saviuc explains how to turn emotional pain into a personal triumph.
What Is Emotional Pain?
Emotional pain is a form of inner trauma. It’s also called psychological or mental pain.
And while this pain has a non-physical origin, we can most certainly feel it in our bodies.
Emotional pain and trauma can physically manifest in any of the following ways:
- Tight chest
- Muscle tension
- Chronic fatigue
- Changes in eating patterns
- Digestive distress
- Compulsive behaviors
- Poor memory
- Lack of coordination
Emotional pain can wreak havoc on our lives in more ways than one. And the problem is, so many of us have ingrained traumas from childhood that we haven’t properly processed.
Is it possible to engage in emotional healing far after the inciting incident has passed?
Luminita Saviuc certainly thinks so.
How Luminita Saviuc Turned Her Pain Into Power
Luminita Daniela Saviuc – also known as the writer behind PurposeFairy.com – is a writer, blogger, photographer, soul sculptor, and a lover of life.
Luminita went on to work at Mindvalley as a product development expert. During that time she wrote her wildly successful blog post “15 Things You Should Give Up to Be Happy.”
This article became one of the most viral personal growth blog posts in history. Over 1.2 million people shared it on Facebook. This lead to a book offer from one of the world’s major publishers and a speaking slot at Mindvalley’s Awesomeness Fest.
At Mindvalley’s A-Fest, the Romanian-born Luminita talked about “Turning Wounds Into Wisdom.” During her talk, she shared a horrific personal story of trauma and abuse at an early age.
She shared the story not to ask for the audience’s sympathy, but to demonstrate exactly how you can take charge of your life after emotional trauma.
Rather than let this emotional pain break her, she used it to propel herself into a new world, a new career, and tremendous success.
This speech, if anything, offers hope. Hope that no matter how awful a situation or circumstance you may have experienced was (or is), the human spirit can live on.
And you should never, ever give up on your dreams.
