It seems unfair that bad things should happen to good people…
If you keep helping and serving, why should negative things come back to you?
“I’m a good person… why does this keep happening to me?”
“What’s WRONG with me?”
“Nice guys finish last…”
“There are no good men/women out there…”
I get this all the time. In fact, it’s one of my favorite questions.
There are very good reasons why “bad” things happen to you (even if you’re a saint) and there are specific things you can do to break free of them.
But first, let’s get clear on what “bad” things are, why they are a permanent feature in your life, and what you can do about it:
1. Where Your “Reality” Comes From
As soon as you are born, you are in survival mode. Plain and simple.
You need food, shelter, and protection. Yes, you are a beautiful little thing but, ultimately, you need all the help you can get.
You learn to blend in by absorbing everything around you. You pull in the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, ideals, and rationalizations of those around you. By duplication, you learn to be a good person and survive. Monkey see – monkey do.
From age zero to 7, your brain is in a theta wave state and you unconsciously store a lot of data. But from then on, everything you’ve accumulated becomes your reality and you begin to attract more of the things you grew up believing.
How many of you attracted a boyfriend or a mate just like your Mom or Dad?
In fact, I was recently working with someone whose patterns of destructive boyfriends mimicked her childhood exactly – her father left during her mother’s pregnancy. Those original feelings of betrayal, abandonment and desperation were repeating themselves in her current relationships and finances.
How did we change this for her? We systematically went through removing all the energy surrounding each event of betrayal, abandonment, and desperation. After these events felt clean, she noticed that they held no power over her anymore.
She said it was as if these events were now part of someone else’s story — as if she was watching them on a tiny screen. It often happens that your original image of the world is what causes you the most distress later in life even if you’re generally a good person.
2. The Myth Of “Bad Things”
It’s time to see “bad things” for what they really are — gifts.
They are the Universe’s way of poking you and telling you to work on something.
If you ignore these signs, play “victim,” and let the bad things repeat themselves, then it’s entirely your own fault. I’m sorry – I am not going to lie to you and gloss over it.
It is your reality and only you are responsible for cleaning it up.
Bad things are the Universe’s way of giving you vital information. And it’s entirely on you what you do with it.
I help people deal with these energy patterns all the time. If at any moment, you keep experiencing the following things, then you likely have some blocks that need to be cleared out ASAP:
- Your co-workers not being nice to you
- Your love life never panning out
- Your career not moving ahead
- Your health is not fantastic
- People not being nice to you
- Your credit cards running up
- Your happiness level sucking
- Your choices not being realized
- Your dreams and desires not manifesting
When something bad happens, you should be HAPPY.
Yes, happy. Now you know what is “wrong” with you!
These repeat events are pointing out the gunk in your life and giving you an opportunity to get rid of them forever.
3. You Don’t Have A Choice
No, you can’t pretend you’re an ostrich and put your head in the sand.
The Universe loves you so much it will keep showing you your patterns, show you what you need to work on so you can clear it and get on with your happy version of life.
The Universe loves you so much, it will keep on giving you this gift over and over again.
At the end of the day, you have no choice but to love yourself enough that you decide to keep fixing whatever comes up.
