Hi, I am the mathematician here at MindValley.

Whenever we start on a new algorithm, I listen to all the non-mathematicians toss ideas on how to solve a problem (which I otherwise am paid to solve with some high-brow maths).

When they (and myself, in a non-mathematical capacity) are done with coming up with simple (but not simplistic) workarounds there are two areas where I get to apply my high-brow maths *wink*:

1. How to quantify and automate the ideas.
2. How to implement anything mathematically which otherwise is not possible heuristically (let’s not start on heuristic mathematics).

And while making the algorithm I take two things into considerations:

1. How to eliminate as much if-then statements and for-loops as possible.
2. How to use mathematics to save the computer the grunt work (although it is meant to do precisely that)- so that the application is lean (and mean).

I will give you a simple example from real life.

Yesterday, we took photos. The result included comments like….

• It looks like I have an arm growing out of my neck..

• Oi! Reshoot my pic?

Well, this is as good as it gets…

Donald Trump & Simon Cowell take a backseat as Mike, Vishen and Jiangti of MindValley judge the business presentation of a Malaysian boy… if MindValley likes him enough, he is one step closer to $50,000 to kickstart the business / career of his/her dreams.

We made a vow to meet at the break of dawn. TheCurve. Sunday.

What for? To fight. A 9km run.

Was it for charity? No. Was it in support of a marketing ploy by an oil company? Indirectly. But as far as Mike, Vishen, Talat, Khailee, David, Katalina, and Khalid were concerned… it was a fight… to the finish line.

The trash talking wasn’t about saliva. It was about bloodshed.

To add to the carnage, we were up against their own worst enemies… our out-of-shape bodies!

Jules will stand in for Khailee when he’s goofing off. Mike and Vishen won’t notice a thing! Muahahaha… Here are some pictures of Khailee and Li’er showing Jules how to act like a hardworking MindValley team member.

The first person to give in to fatigue, or insanity, gets a bag of rice. That’s right folks. You can share it with the family, too. We also care about our employee’s families.

Ozzy, our Director of PR got a new laptop. This time with a chew resistant cable.  But he still had great difficulty defragmenting his hard-drive.

Guess Labradoodle’s ain’t so smart after all…

Aslak in shorts, socks, sandals, snacks and a train of beanbags. What will he wear on “casual Fridays”?

Today, while doing his morning in-office exercise, Vishen knocked over our sacred curly bamboo plant.

We did everything we could ( Ctrl+Z , Google it, put it on ClickMuse etc…) but nothing worked.

The broken glass and scattered pebbles are now a permanent feature of our office.
